Hostal San José

Pros: I hardly ever write reviews anymore, but in this case, I can't help myself. Unfortunately, we only stayed in La Union for one night, but the stay was truly perfect. We were able to use the kitchen, had plenty of storage space in the room, and I liked that it was very centrally located, with lots of space and privacy. It's decorated really cutely with fairy lights. But the best thing for us was that Marvin is extremely friendly and helpful. We had a few problems with our credit card and didn't know how to book or get to the boat to Nicaragua, and Marvin took care of everything for us from start to finish, making several phone calls and solving all our problems despite the language barrier. We even got free water and were allowed to use his guitar. We can ONLY recommend this homestay and would come back again and again! THANK YOU for everything!

Good!

Pros: Property is clean and has all the basics you need. Bed was very comfy and shower had a good pressure. Owner is very friendly and helpful.

Cons: There is a big gap underneath the door to outside, so bugs come in easily. Had a huge cockroach in my room, but the boy helped me to get it out of my room.

Pros: Very good Value in comparison to other places and it was clean and in a great location. There is a kitchen you can use as well which was good for us.

An ideal place to stay for a quick visit to La Union, perfect for backpackers

Pros: The place is ideal and good value for a quick visit to La Union. It certainly isn’t the nicest place but is in a great location, comfortable beds, good wifi and the staff are very nice! All at a very reasonable price. Ticks the boxes for what we needed before our boat trip. They also let us store our luggage there in the day

Pros: Staff were very friendly. Room was clean. Great value for money. Near the park which is the main place you'll want to visit if you have some time to kill here.

Pros: Staff is very helpful, room was nice and clean. They let us leave our luggage there when we went for overnight tour.

Cons: There is no door to the bathroom. WiFi is not reaching furthest rooms.

Amazing staff!

Pros: Rooms are clean and showers are really big but the staff are what really make this place. Anything you need they go out of your way to help you and made our time here so enjoyable. Would definitely stay again! Thank you Oswaldo!
