Amazing, would definitely go back

Pros: The beds were comfortable and the room immaculate and a really nice guy working on the reception Atony who was very helpful, of course the access to the water

Cons: The 2 days I was there the Internet and water were off for the whole day and then again at night. I know it's not anyone's fault but not sure if it's a regular occurrence

Amazing place to relax - just new beds would be a good investment for the hostel

Pros: Absolutely stunning place sitting on the lake. The view is awesome and we enjoyed the sun deck, the hammocks and jumping off the deck. We had a private parking inside the hostel and we felt very secure because they ask everyone who enters for their name. We were in the dorm and It was good that the room has a window for fresh air. We were allowed to use their kitchen for cooking. It felt weird because it is their restaurant kitchen as well but we cannot confirm any of the bed reviews about no kitchen. We cooked there every day and also prepared our lunch and breakfast in the kitchen. The ladies in the kitchen were super friendly :)

Cons: Just the beds are in really bad condition. They make a lot of noise and some mattresses are really run down. The first night I couldn't sleep at all because the mattress was so uncomfortable. The second and 3rd night I switched beds and it was alright. All beds are also very squeaky, so if someone turns around it is noisy. Also no curtains for the beds. So I think they should really invest in new beds which offer more comfort. Just be aware that the last 20 minute of the drive are an uncealed road. It was a bit tricky with our scooters and of course, there is a lot of dust.

Deluxe Room was just awesome.

Pros: A fantastic hostel with a great team making it a lovely relaxing experience. We stayed in the deluxe rooms which were well appointed and very comfortable. Great place albeit not much nearby unless you travel.

Cons: We loved it all.

Glad I stayed to see the lake - not sure I’d want to be there longer than one or two nights

Pros: Gorgeous lakeside location. Nice sunset. Good value. Nice pool, though I admit I didn’t actually swim in it. Food was tasty - I had the choripan. Nice hammocks - although some less self aware guests might keep bumping into the hammock closest to the swings on the dock if you’re unlucky.

Cons: The deck area got very clogged with people - not sure all of them were staying at the accommodation either. “Hot” shower water was cold - this was in the evening so perhaps it’s better to shower earlier. Was a bit cold in my room and no blanket / duvet, just a thin top sheet. Very loud in the morning. Woke up at around 6am to noise around the accommodation, and the room I was in was under the main reception area so a lot of heavy footsteps on top. It was also very windy during my stay and furniture seemed to keep blowing over.

Beautiful place by the lake

Pros: Beautiful place, lots of fun if you like jumping into the water, or you could rent jet ski or kayaking The staff in the kitchen is super nice (you use their kitchen to cook, so it is super complete) Everything was clean. Beds are comfortable Very nice views of sunrise/sunset Very nice and hot shower

Cons: Room is a bit small The staff only arrives after 7am, so you could not use the kitchen before than If you want to hike up cerro verde, consider to be there before 8am. We got there at 8h and there was no availabily left (only for el tibet). And in this case, you would need to leave before 7am

Relaxing at the lake

Pros: Awesome Hostel, chilled place at the lake and easy to reach from Santa Ana and the Volcano. Dorms are quiet, there are hot showers and everything was super clean. Staff was super nice, especially Dani at the bar, providing me with Pilsener all day :)

Enjoy the lake

Pros: Nice hostel with rooms with a great view of the lake. You can swim in the lake from the deck of the hostel, or you can chill in a small swimming pool.

Cons: As the property has multiple areas where guests can sit and enjoy drinks and meals, it is challenging for the staff to manage them effectively. Also, be aware that this hostel attracts younger travellers, who can be a bit loud in all their enthusiasm while playing and jumping in the water. If you aim at a few days of relaxation I would avoid this hostel.

Pros: Everything was perfect. Restaurant good food. Water (hot and cold available 24/7). Bed clean and comfy (even dorms). People that works there are very very nice. You can rent kayak or jetski to go on the lake. Many areas to spend quality time. After 22:00, no noise to have a good night of sleep. Just book it. Incredible hostel direct on the lake Coetepeque 🥰

Cons: Kitchen accessible on day time only and locked at all the time. Have to ask for fork/plate etc.
