High expectations, exceeded

Pros: Really delightful and professional staff. Our room was huge, unusual and beautiful. The hotel is very classy and stylish. Excellent pool. Super breakfast. Fair value. Perfect location. Easy to park outside on the street. We are on an 8 week trip around Central America and this was halfway through and the best stop so far. Can’t recommend highly enough.

Beautiful old house in a great location.

Pros: This is a fabulous old colonial house converted into a hotel. It is very centrally located and within walking distance of everything. The rooms are located around a beautiful tropical garden. We stayed in the colonial suite, room 1. It was large and very comfortable. It had a large window to the street but was very quiet the whole time. The bed was very large and comfortable and there was plenty of storage space. The bathroom was also very large and the only issue was the shower. The staff were really welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was taken at the outside tables in the garden area.. The food was fairly reasonable. The cocktails were excellent and good value.

Cons: The only thing I can complain about was the shower. It really was poor. The water was barely warm and the water more or less just dribbled from the centre of the shower head. It just needs a good overhaul. It's a pity there isn't more fresh fish on the menu.

Wonderful stay in hidden gem in Suchitoto

Pros: Incredible friendly and helpful staff, the hotel is very individual and everywhere is something to detect and enjoy

Cons: No coffee maker at the room (however easy to get one from the nice people working there), some refurbishment would be necessary

Charming rustic stay with fantastic staff and great amenities

Pros: Great staff, helped with bags, cool policy on garden smoking. Drinks and vegan breakfast were excellent. Loved the pool. The place has an authentic, rustic charm. Highly recommended.

Cons: It would have been good if they provided a steamer for clothes and slippers.

A close stay to good restaurants

Pros: it was quiet, the rooms have great isolation from the street noises, even though there was a festival a block away, there was not noise coming in.

Pros: Location, service and cleanliness exceeded our expectations. We enjoy the little time we spent there. I wish we could have stayed a few days longer.

Highly recommend this fantastic hotel

Pros: Hands down, one of the best hotels we have stayed at, anywhere in the world. Very charming. You feel like you are stepping into a lovely museum, with period furnishings and antiques all around you. From the moment we entered to the time we left, the staff was attentive and courteous. They promptly handled our needs with flair and discretion. The extremely talented chef served mouthwatering meals at lunch and dinner. Tip: have the maracuya cheesecake for dessert. We had breakfast in the lovely courtyard by the fountain. The pool is picturesque, surrounded by lush vegetation. For those of us accustomed to U.S. or European prices, both room and dining are very reasonable in comparison. And the best part is that San Salvador is only 5 hours from both New York and California. Our only regret was that we were at Los Almendros de San Lorenzo for a short time but we can easily return for a long weekend.

Cons: We should have stayed longer.

Gorgeous and interesting hotel in a great location in town

Pros: This is a very unique hotel in a great location in town that is walkable to restaurants and the town center. Hotel is decorated with interesting art and has beautiful garden areas. Breakfast was good and could be enjoyed in beautiful common spaces. We also liked seeing the resident dog Lorenzo on site.

Cons: The pool area was nice but pool itself was full of leaves when we arrived in late afternoon. Would have been nice to have pool towels in the room.
