Pros: Central location in town, free decent breakfast, friendly staff and surf lessons through the lodge which was great. There were lots of reviews around noise so we messaged in advance to ask for a quiet room and we didn't have any issues so this wasn't a problem for us. Lots of hammocks to chill in also

Cons: Nothing really. We didn't actually spend much time at the lodge itself the lounges to sunbathe on were plastic so got super hot but we spent most of the time at the beaches and out and about anyway

Pros: Everything was great! Comfortable rooms with aircon, breakfast was nice! Staff were very helpful and the location is very close to the beach

Great Location & Comfortable Stay in El Tunco

Pros: Great stay at Papaya Lodge - My private room was clean, comfortable, and had air conditioning and a private bathroom. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the included breakfast was a nice bonus. The pool, second-floor hangout, and hammock area made it a great place to relax. Filtered water and a shared kitchen were also provided, which was a nice touch. The location was excellent for exploring El Tunco.

Cons: There’s some noise at night from a nearby bar, but it wasn’t too bad. Earplugs could help if you’re sensitive to sound

If you’re traveling alone, STAY HERE

Pros: The atmosphere and clientelle is awesome. Staff is helpful, does also speak English. Private room is very nice, with nice bathroom and functioning AC. Location is great.

Cons: Didn’t like the dorms too much. Also wished they had more surfboards for rent for beginner/intermediate.

Quick walk to the beach at a decent price makes this worthwhile.

Pros: Location was pretty great and the value was top notch. Very short walk to the beach. I parked my car at the other Papaya hotel in Surf City which no one seemed to have a problem with. Room was pretty spacious.

Cons: As may be typical in El Salvador there was no hot water in the shower, though it was pleasant enough.

Fun in the sun close to the beach!

Pros: Breakfast was very good. Appreciated having a choice with the included breakfast. Cold water in the dispenser of filling water bottles was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was great for walking to the beach.
