Hostal Cumbres del Volcan Flor Blanca

Pros: Clean, comfy, has everything you need. Terrace is lovely. Location (despite being a 20min walk from downtown) is actually super convenient. Great local food nearby and the bus to all the major but stations, as well as the one direct to La Libertad/El Tunco and all the other beaches in that area passes pretty much right outside.

Pros: Lots of comfortable common areas. Great for relaxing and meeting people. Good hot water showers.

Cons: Bathroom set up. Only 2 mens bathrooms and the shower was combined with the toilet. Some uncomfortable wait times. Like almost all hostels the bathrooms seem the least user friendly.

Good option a bit further away from downtown

Pros: Right in front a very nice park, room is spacious, warm shower

Cons: Kitchen too small and too crowded we liked it, but it is about 30min walk from downtown

Pros: There's a good vibe at the hostel with a nice mix of people.

Cons: Men's bathrooms are a bit small and cramped. The bins for toilet paper were overfull.

Pros: Friendly staff, good Wi-Fi very clean, cold drinks available in the reception

Loving Salvador

Pros: It's a very good hostel. It has a good location, 30 minutes away of the historical center. When I've been there there was no wi-fi for all 3 days, but they gave me 20% off, awesome digital detox! The host also explained where I can get a free unlimited wi-fi nearby. All hosts are very kind and polite, they love to help you, speak both English and Spanish. There's hot water, not all hostels in Central America have it. Also there are lockers. My room didn't have an AC but had a fan though. Room can be a bit stuffy but you can use a fan or open a window. The kitchen is big and has all needed utensils. Also there's a water filter. Bathrooms are always clean

Cons: In both bathrooms ceilings are low in some parts (especially for me, 190 cm), but yeah, they're low for everybody. But it's not that important!

Great place to start exploring San Salvador

Pros: Great location in a nice area very close to the Parque Cuscatlán where many walking tours start.

Pros: Great location, close to a park and walking distance to Centre. Lovely and helpful staff. Located in old villa, a bit worn but this gives it a special charm.

Cons: Unfortunately located at a busy road, so we had traffic noise all day and night.

Pros: The personnel where friendly and accommodations quite confortable.

Cons: Parking was quite difficult.

Wonderful house with wonderful people ♡

Pros: We loved that house and stayed here twice! :) It was the perfect place to start and finish our El Salvador trip ♡ Very lovely staff, beautiful house and rooms and a good vibe. Well located as well :) We also could store some luggage for a few days :) Thank you for everything, we would choose this place again at any time!
